Because there is such a preponderance of ODs involved in some way or other in the world of finance (and it's a very broad and at times murky world), it made sense, in pursuit of razor-sharp segmentation of the Branch, to create a forum where like-minded ODs (a now together with those from Michaelhouse, Hilton and St Andrew's) can get together to hear from experts in the field, discuss all matters money and network.

The ODU Finance Forum is convened by Carig Vintcent (1986S). The first Forum meeting was held in April where Niall Carroll (1981,O) spoke on his particular journey in the field of money management and how to forge a career in it. At this meeting Magda Wierzycka (wife of past Bishops College Council Chairman, Simon Peile (1979F)) founder and CEO of Sygnia Asset Management talked to the Forum at The Oriental Club and covered a wide array of topics ranging from the impact of AI in the world of investments, political and investment challenges and opportunities in South Africa, geopolitical risks and much else. Magda is an energetic, highly articulate and passionate speaker and the questions afterwards spoke volumes about her ability to engage and provoke (in a positive way) the interest of her audience.

ODs in attendance, among a good representation of Michaelhouse and Hilton old boys, were:

Caelim Parkes (1990, Ogilvie), Bruce Good (1993, Founders), Karl Coetzee (2012, Ogilvie), Craig Vintcent (1986, School), Marc van Heerden (2008, School), Jonathan Pigott (1982, Ogilvie), Nicky Greig (2009, Founders), Waleed Omar (1999, Birt), Niall Carroll (1982, Ogilvie), Chris Leach (2008, School), Scott McLean (2008, Founders), Joe Miller (2012, School), Troy Horrell (2016, Kidd), Zandy Gordon (2016, Gray), Matt Perrott (2016, Ogilvie), Steven Falconer (2011, Ogilvie), Tom Horne (2007, Birt), Tim Loughton (1993, Gray), Karl-Luke Steinhagen (2012, Birt), Andrew Gebers (2012, Gray), Nicky Bicket (1973, Founders)
