The Clipper Round the World Race left Cape Town on Sunday 17 November bound for Freemantle, Australia.

Nick Leggatt (1984), skipper of Zuhai, and Dave Immelman (1987), skipper of Bermuda, attended a Q&A session at Royal Cape Yacht Club the Wednesday evening before they departed. Andrew Collins (1985O), Rear Commodore (Sailing), interviewed them in front of the RCYC members, who were fascinated with their stories about the first three legs.

The next day Nick showed the boys from the Bishops Sailing Club around his boat. Nick started the sailing club during his time at Bishops and was delighted to see how strong it is today. The boys clambered around the boat and tried their hand at the powerful coffee-grinder winches. Nick and a few of his crew explained all the systems on the boat. Nick’s father, Hugo Leggatt (past teacher and White House house master), was also present.
