Wine fans may have seen the recent release of Tim Atkin’s annual Special Report on the South African wine industry, including his 2020 evaluations. Once again, there were some standout performances from ODs, including Anthony Hamilton Russell (1979F) of Hamilton Russell, David Trafford (1981W) of De Trafford and Sijnn, John Loubser (1985F) of Silverthorn, James Downes (1990W) of Shannon Vineyards and Mike Ratcliffe (1990W) of Vilafonté. But our standout performer was Chris Alheit (1999O) who received scores of 99/100, 98/100 and 97/100 for three of his wines.

Read the brilliant profile (click here) of Chris by Brandon de Kock (1986K) in the latest issue of The Old Diocesan.
