OD Cricket Club
Founders Day 2019 finished off with a Day/Night T20 cricket match featuring ODs against Old Andreans (St Andrew's College, Grahamstown).
This is an annual match between these two historic schools, and OA captain Richard Levesque, thanked the ODs for valuing the rivalry by hosting the match on Founders Day.
Congratulations are due to Greg Boyes (1995F) for organising the OD side.
The ODs fielded first, and after a lovely spit braai by Paul Faber (1986S), managed to chase the total set by the visitors down with relative ease.
Top OD scorer was Warren Griffiths (1996G), who sportsmanlike retired after achieving his half-century.
Thank you to Lukhanyo Mntonintshi (2017G) for umpiring during the second half.
Both sides are to be congratulated on the spirit with which they competed, and also on the organisational culture that exists in both camps. The players cleaned the entire area around the Frank Reid Pavilion after the match, and the feedback from the staff coming to clean the next morning, was that they were immensely impressed by the ODs behaviour.
Well done gents!
