Bishops OD Forum

Our first evening event in April tackles a topic that is on many South African's minds: doing business internationally.

The stunning Bishops Mitre Theatre in Rondebosch, Cape Town, hosts global speaker Jos Dirkx, an award-winning media and communications advisor, international public speaker, creative strategist and world-traveler. Originally from The Netherlands, Jos was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has since lived in twelve countries across the world, having visited near 100. Jos is passionate about telling stories that change the world: whether through the arts, by creating content that challenges the status quo, through her global speaking engagements and work with clients on creative communications, or through the award-winning not-for-profit organization Girls & Football SA she founded in South Africa. Her background in theatre and the arts, combined with economics and technology, fuels her passion to merge education, creativity and EdTech.

Joining Dirkx on stage is Heavy Chef founder, Fred Roed, founder of digital agency WWC, which he sold in 2013 to Saratoga Group. WWC operated across 17 countries in Africa, and won multiple awards and widespread recognition for its pioneering digital work, particularly in the field of web development. Roed is an Amazon best-selling author and winner of "Best Contribution To The Digital Industry" in 2015.

This event will focus on the power of purpose in creating a globally relevant company. Anyone wanting to start a company that transcends borders should not miss this.

This event is for curious bystanders, interested onlookers, fringe investors, smart corporates, ambitious entrepeneurs, technophiles, misfits, smarty-pants and skinny chefs alike. What you waiting for? Book your ticket already.
