Angus Firth (OD and Bishops teacher) reports: We are starting a new society at the College called the Leading Society. With our huge array of leadership experience amongst our ODs, we would like to call for ODs who would be willing to share their experiences around leadership with the boys in the society to contact me directly: afirth@bishops.org.za

The Leading Society Aims to:

• Give pupils the opportunity to cultivate and develop their insights, skills, and excite their interest in leadership.
• Expose pupils to influential leaders from all walks of life both locally and internationally.
• Host meetings by way of informal talks, presentations, panel discussions and so much more.
• Enrich pupils on their journey to becoming a 21st Century Leader with the attributes of:
  • integrity to become leaders of their word, with the courage to do what is right.
  • curiosity so they can learn to challenge the status quo, take the initiative to pursue new ideas.
  • humility to be thankful for opportunities and awareness of who they are.
  • compassion to empathize and care for those around them.
  • diversity in respecting all people and celebrate differences.
  • excellence in setting high standards for themselves and celebrating the achievements of others
