FORUM MEETS AT THE ODU
On Tuesday 23 April 2019 Pofessor Keertan Dheda addressed Forum.  He is a general physician, pulmonologist, and a critical care specialist who heads up the Division of Pulmonology at Groote Schuur Hospital and the University of Cape Town (http://www.medicine.uct.ac.za/med/divisions/pulmonology).

He is a visiting professor at University College London, and serves at the convenor of the South African National Pulmonology examinations conducted by the College of Medicine of South Africa. 

Professor Dheda as published over 150 papers and peer-reviewed journals and serves on the editorial boards of several high-ranking international journals, including the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Lancet Respiratory Medicine, and Nature Scientific Reports.  

The topic of Professor Dheda's address to Forum, was to explain the incidence of multi-drug-resistant (TB) tuberculosis.  He gave the members some idea of the critical position that South Africa appares in w.r.t. TB.
