We recently received the following story from Gareth Davies (1998K), Branch Secretary for Queensland, Australia.
Son of Gareth, James is a tennis enthusiast and player. He is on his own sporting journey hoping to one day break into the pro-tennis scene. This may take a while, but he has already been very close to the action.
As a serious ball boy, he has had the privilege of sharing the tennis court with a number of tennis stars. These recently included Holger Rune, Dominique Thiem, Andy Murray, Swartzmann, Giorgi and Stearns who participated in the Brisbane Open 2023 GLTA Masters Series tennis tournament. To top it all he got to hold Nadal's racket as it was being strung. May the magic pass on to him!
James plays tennis on the Junior Tour in Queensland at the moment and is developing to be a pro tennis player but there is a long way to go, says his father Gareth, himself a good all round sportsman at Bishops.
