ODs Around the World |
Last night, the OD Hockey side played their Rondebosch counterparts, in a splendid display. With two out of the three OD Hockey Olympians recently returned from the 2024 Paris Olympics, it's small wonder.
In the feature photograph at the top, Dayaan Cassiem (2017W) is on the left to one of our College First XI stars, Josh Mettler (Gr12:FH), who already holds national schoolboy colours for hockey; and to his right, is Ryan Julius (2013K). Jack Newman (2018F) to the far right managed the side.
The ODA Dr Paul Murray attended in support.
This moment captured last night at the hockey, will surely serve Josh well, as an inspiration. for his continued hockey career.

In the photo immediately above, are the OD players, the Rondebosch players and coaches and managers.
The match was played after the Bishops/Rondebosch main match at WPCC last night.
The ODs won 9 goals to 2.
In the photograph immediately below, are the ODs who played against SACS after the First XIs' match, played at the Astro at Bishops on Friday 09 August 2024, in true Cape winter conditions.

The OD Hockey season has been a successful one with matches between the ODs against the school, Bosch (several times) and SACS.
Next season we are looking to expand the matches to include St Andrews College (OAs) and other kindred associations such as Michaelhouse and Hilton alumni.
