The 2018 South African School Alumni Conference was held from 13-15 September 2018 at Somerset College, Western Cape. 
Geoffrey Forbes (2013G) was present, and represented his company, Socius, an alumni consulting firm. Their message was well directed: be caring towards your alumni community, and bold about your purpose. 
Paarl Gym High School and Paarl Boys' High Alumni presented on the logistics of putting together a significantly big event, and used their Inter Schools as a case study.
Bloemhof High School then illustrated how they used an Art Exhibition to raise funds and draw together Alumni.
Rustenburg Old Girls' Union presented on how their alumni body had developed over the past year, and they thanked the OD Union publicly for their support and guidance in the process.
Further discussions on branding, digitising archives, and personality development made up the rest of the networking aimed conference.
The OD Union presented at last year's conference held at St. Stithians College. Many Alumni bodies reported this year how well they remembered the presentation. The ODU is certainly held in high esteem by other South African Alumni bodies, and they certainly feel honoured to be able to network with the ODU.
