Hanlon Chiddy (1963G)

I am sad to report that Hanlon Chiddy (1963 Gray) died on 13 April 2022 in his home in Sydney, Australia at the age of 76.

Tony Clarke reports:

I am sad to report that Hanlon Chiddy (1963 Gray) died on 13 April 2022 in his home in Sydney, Australia at the age of 76.
Chid was a highly effective General Practitioner in Sydney but his life was hugely changed after he suffered a severe heart attack at the age of 48. He only just survived that episode and ultimately required a heart transplant 10 years later. This gave him a new lease on life despite many challenges, and he was able to return to work. Throughout these years he had the wonderful support of his second wife Robbie and his three sons.
Robbie's sudden death four years ago was a crushing blow to him but he did what could be done to have as full a life as possible. His passion for rugby never waned!
Chid had a huge number of friends - many from his days at Bishops and UCT Medical School.
His three adult sons are leading interesting lives in Australia, the UK and Peru but were fortunately in Sydney at the time of his death.
