Mevrou Ina Fourie | 1937 – 2020

Mevrou Ina Fourie (1937 – 2020) passed away on Monday 21 December 2020, after a short fight against cancer in Strand Somerset West.

She taught Afrikaans at Bishops Prep for 27 years (1980 – 2007). She also spent countless hours on the tennis courts and did not hand out any pink papers in 27 years!

She will be remembered for her dedication and always taking a sincere interest in people.

On her retirement in 2007, a bench was placed on Stanmore field to commemorate her service with the following inscription:

“You must serve faithfully in the fear of the Lord – 2 Chronicles 19:9”

That she has done.

A remembrance service was held on 26 December for immediate family only, due to Covid restrictions.

She will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Steyn (staff 1974 – 1996), son Stefan (1986K), daughter Ronel, grandchildren Stephen (2018K), Jean Luc (2020K), Daneel, Frances and Anouk.
