The ODA Paul Murray attended today's Principal's Assembly at the College (Friday 01 August 2025).

The routine for this is that students are recognised through various awards and it is wonderful to see how they achieve at such great heights.  One such student is James Thunstrom, who takes the A Level History course with Paul, who got his Academic Jersey which is the highest award for Academics.

It is also the custom at such an Assembly that the Principal shares some ideas, relevant for the students, before closing.

For this morning's assembley, Mr Reeler shared thoughts from his recent visit to the IBS Conference in the US.  He recounted his experience of listening to Gus Worland – Aussie sports commentator and founder of an organisation that focuses specifically on men’s mental fitness called Gotcha4Life. This is an organisation hoping to build emotional resilience, enable social connectedness, and promote healthy help-seeking behaviours https://www.gotcha4life.org/

At the Assembly, he refrred to Bishops' Day of Service, a continuation of what we started last year as a day’s service to honour the late Nelson Mandela.

"As Mandela day fell outside the term, we took this past Wednesday to have service activities in Houses at various places of need. Inculcating a sense of service in our boys is so important – they are all extremely privileged and it was a joy to see how some of the boys took to serving others with humility and grace. We will continue to do this as part of our school calendar" - A Reeler (15th Principal).
