On Wednesay 30 July 2025 the ODA Dr Paul Murray gave the fourth in a series of talks on Italy; reminiscences as a student in Florence in the 70s; and, on visits to Milan and Rome, and now, Venice.

The talk was well-attended by ODs and partners with Tea and Scones served.

Paul was inspired for the talks by OD Alan Ramsay (1960F), who suggested titles for them ... in the case of Venice: “Get to Venice before tourist visits are restricted – and why you should go there”.

There are several more talks to come - ODs wishing to attend can contact Paul at pmurray@bishops.org.za

Wednesday 27 August – “The SAS Assegaai (submarine) with an OD connection, First Lieutenant was Martyn Trainor (1961G), later Vice-Admiral and Second-in-Charge of the SA Navy” - Speaker Sydney Cullis (1960F).

Wednesday 03 September – “The Diocesan College, Early Development of the Woodlands Estate - Architects and the Architecture” - Speaker Geoffrey de Wet (1965G).

Wednesday 10 September – “Travels in Peru; from Cusco, the capital city of the Inca Empire, trekking over the high Andes to Machu Picchu and down to the Amazon rainforest … in search of Paddington bear's family” - Speaker Andy Wood (1977G).

These are all at 10.30am at the ODU.
