The society - The Historical Bench - met at The Mitre, for a presentation by James Collins.

The Historical bench had an interesting meeting on Monday 7th March 2022 in the Mitre Lounge.  Nineteen students attended and five excused themselves because of other school commitments.  The topic discussed was the Russo-Ukrainian war currently being waged in Eurasia.  Background information was given on the war and the current invasion was analyzed. We then had a discussion as to whether Russia would take over Ukraine. The majority voted that Russia would not take full control.  The teacher-in-charge of the society commended James Collins (Gr 11 - Ogilvie House) for his strong endeavours to present.  If you would like to attend one of the school society meetings held in The Mitre lounge, please contact the teacher-in-charge, Paul Murray at pmurray@bishops.org.za.  You will be most welcome.  There are four meetings of societies per term, varying in the nature of the discussions/topics.
