The photograph supplied by Donald Fraser Bett is the Birt House photo from 1961. He writes in as follows:

"I'm sending you this Birt House photo from 1961 as a matter of interest!

Philip Wood is in the top row on the extreme right of photo. Next to him is Tomlinson (can't remember his first name) then Andy Selfe, Snowdon, Steyn, Heydenrich & ?

I'm in the second row behind Vandy & Lemmie! The tallest! On my right is Rupert Valpy and on left is Tyrrel Fairhead, who is now my brother-in-law, married to my wife's sister Jean. I'm still friendly with almost all the boys to my left and right. Small world.

Also in the second row is Philip Selfe, 2nd from right and David Abbott 4th from right. Both sadly deceased.

I have a full list of all the names of boys & masters in that photo somewhere and will forward to  Greg Brown this weekend.

Warm regards

Donald."

Should anyone be able to provide more names it wiil mean a lot to the archives as putting names to faces is a very challenging task.

Please write in to Paul Murray at pmurray@bishops.org.za
