Reunions

We have had many reunions this year, but this one was extra special!  Dr Paul Murray ensured that the VIP group from the class of 1954 were made to feel very welcome as he spent much of the morning with them.  WP van Zyl (1997K) also popped in for a cup of tea and friendly chat.

Thank you to Margie Brown for the following report on the incredible 70th Reunion of the Class of 1954.  Margie, a very special lady, has continued to organise the reunions even after her husband, Ian Brown (1954G), passed away.  Margie writes:

The class of '54 was honoured to have the presence of Rev Peter Macan from the UK (pictured below with Margie Brown and Dr Paul Murray) for it's celebrations.

He and James Willis (1955W), Lawson Howes (1954O), Ivor Jardine (1954F) and Margie Brown attended the 8am School Eucharist in the Mallett Centre.

This was followed by a delicious cream tea in the Mitre.  Our thanks to Lynn and Dedry for setting up and to the ODU Committee for providing this.

OD Ambassador, Paul Murray, joined us, and then took us on a tour of the Museum, which has been totally redesigned to allow for easier viewing and a more spacious layout.  Our thanks to him - and congratulations on the tasteful refurbishment.

These five were joined by Sylvia and Peter Sauerman (1954W), Peter Newton (1954O), Angus Bean (1954F), Rosemary Donnelly, and Anna du Toit  for lunch at Kelvin.

Apologies were received from Conrad Guelke (1954G), the Robin Mackellars (1954O), the Francis de Beers (1954G) and the Geoff Richardsons (1954S).

What a wonderful way to spend Founders Day especially since it is a milestone anniversary for both the school and the matrics of 1954!
